A Trader’s Fear: Pilot

“For Mom: Thanks for your knowledge and strength..”

“There is no fear for one whose mind is not filled with desires”

Hey, What do you fear the most? It’s crazy what fear does to someone. It’s like a cancer, eating deep into the minds of the talented. Killing them from within. They say, “fear exposes your dark sides”. I just think it’s that ugly mirror in your bedroom—You look at everyday, without realizing it’s ugly. However, the thing is, we can’t get rid of this particular mirror. How else do you see the size of your fore-head.

First, we all need mirrors. How many times do you walk past a mirror without checking yourself or checking if you’ve got a furniture ass? Yup, get in line. Hmm, I wonder, Do rich people look at mirrors? Are wealthy people scared?.. Albeit, comparing the fears of the rich and that of the poor, I bet there’s a huge difference.

Secondly, The major irony of life is: we attract that which we fear. You spend your whole time avoiding it without realizing, that’s all you think about. Life has made me know that: there are four fears that heavily affect man. The fear of missing out, failure (being wrong), death, and fear of rejection. Can each of the fears be accepted and allowed to exist within me? Will they will ever go away? I guess they will always be there, but can I accept them and not allow them to direct my actions and my words?

Finally, quoting Williamson, “Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?”.. Whenever I think of reaching a goal, These fears pull me back. However, no matter how I fight them off they keep winning. Maybe, just maybe one day I’ll be more appreciative of them.

Do I need to understand them? Is it a strength or a weakness? From Williamson’s quote she said, we don’t fear the darkness; it’s the light. How can that be? Maybe she’s right, I guess I’ll find out. In addition, my story began at Massachusetts..
